The Council also publishes Foreign Affairs, the preeminent journal on global issues, and provides up-to-date information about the world and U.S. foreign policy on the Councils award-winning website, CFR.org.
This is a superb opportunity to extend our two globally influential websites into digital media and rich Internet applications. Join a website management team of six persons as a Producer at the world's most prestigious foreign-policy think tank.
The responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
Work with website stakeholders to translate organizational objectives into tactical projects; help to build site audiences by coordinating content strategy, user experience design, and online marketing tactics.
Write requirements documents and online marketing plans, define and scope Web development tasks for the technical team, and create budgets and schedules.
Drive end-to-end development and production efforts by coordinating Web information architects, graphic designers, application developers, and markup authors; outsource as needed to build the complete team.
Compose QA plans and oversee application testing; make go-live decisions.
Post-launch: create documentation and train and support CMS users; refine and optimize projects in light of post-launch testing; measure success against project requirements and the marketing plan.
Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of two years experience working on website development projects in a managerial role.
Thorough grounding in core Web disciplines such as standards-based XHTML/CSS markup and user-experience design.
Strong background working with enterprise-class Web content management systems.
Experience with online brand management; interpreting Web analytics and other e-metrics; and audience development using techniques like behavioral targeting, content syndication, and leveraging social-media channels.
Particular experience desirable in running and testing email marketing campaigns and developing new email products and capabilities, including targeting, personalization, dynamic content, etc.
Demonstrated interest in e-marketing, digital publishing/journalism or international relations.
Bachelors degree; commitment to continuing education in the Web profession.
