This is a technical project/product management position.
Working with the Engineering, Client Services & Sales teams, you will have command and control of the product delivery cycle (four week product builds). You will become the liaison between the development, customer support & sales teams for product definition and delivery. You will be responsible for distilling individual development tasks into a development plan and several status reports for periodic review â?? essentially they will help to track what development is working on and whether the Company is on-track for promised deliverables.
You will also play a pivotal technical role working with our integration partners to design, develop and support our integrated product set. You will be asked to gather product requirements, write product specifications, take those specifications through the development and delivery cycle and then finally to help to deliver them to the customer with our integration partners.
Regarding product definition, the you will also help to gather customer needs through occasional direct client contact and will deliver product definitions in a business requirements format. You will discuss the requirements internally and produce a proposal to present back to the customer. From these activities, you will develop a high level project plan.
Discreet Tasks:
Detailed needs analyses and requirements gathering with the internal teams and the customer
Application enhancements definitions
Data integration definitions
Sign-off on and deliver effort estimates from development
Development project tracking
User acceptance testing
Documentation
Delivery and deployment
Customer billing activities (when necessary)
Responsibilities:
Work with Client Service & Engineering to define the project plan on an ongoing basis according to a six month project plan.
Manage product development capacity and delivery schedules
Manage the product development cycle and all product integrations
Define Prospect needs, deal requirements as communicated by sales and Client Services
Assist in writing Statements of Work when applicable.
Interface with clients, prospects and technical partners to detail requirements and to communicate deliverables.
Create detailed product and integration specifications wherever necessary
Work with Engineering to elucidate technical goals
Work with sales team to define Prospect needs, deal requirements
Manage Engineering to Client Service communications and vice versa.
Communicate Development plan and progress to the balance of the organization.
Conduct first round business acceptance testing.
Broad Activities
Work with senior management team to drive product and service definition, guide product development through its lifecycle, from strategic definition to delivery and to work closely with clients to define and to deliver the system functionality, enhancements and services that they require.
Orchestrate the hand off of new functionality to customer support for deployment. If the item in question is highly technical (web services, integrations, etc) â?? assist with the implementation and provide documentation on its setup and usage to customer support so that it may be implemented again in the future and supported accordingly.
Help the sales team to evaluate requests from their prospects and determine appropriate messaging back to the prospect after that feature has been evaluated. Collect and organize market and client feedback to help bring clarity to potential future projects.
Work with the marketing department to craft accurate collateral pieces and website content around new products and functionality that have been created
Required Skills:
Strong experience either managing or delivering a web-based product, preferably SaaS.
Strong client relationship management experience working with key client contacts
Impeccable interpersonal finesse to build relationships with key collaborators in order to advance the product
Software understanding knowledge of SDLC
Experience writing product and product integration specs
Experience as a sales/implementation/support engineer preferred.
