Summary: The User Interface Designer designs user interfaces for INTTRA’s suite of transactional Web and desktop applications. The UI Designer will be working closely with cross-functional teams to design high-performance enterprise, customer-facing business applications. The UI Designer must be able to conceptualize complex business requirements and deliver creative UI designs, prototypes, and specifications to optimize the user experience. Additional responsibilities include product concept development, graphic design, wireframe creation, usability testing, and quality assurance of developed screens.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design user interfaces for transactional Web and desktop applications following the user-centered design (UCD) process.
• Develop high level and detailed storyboards, mockups and clickable prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design concepts.
• Design and build high-fidelity prototypes to explore new product concepts.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Business Analysts to understand application and end-user requirements.
• Initiate and conduct review sessions to validate design approach/feasibility with Product Management, Analysis, Development and Quality Assurance.
• Refine and validate designs through usability studies and direct interaction with user communities.
• Create UI design specifications.
• Maintain company brand and imagery, establish and maintain design principles.
• Maintain awareness of competitive product interfaces.
Requirements:
• 4 years of experience in Web and/or Windows user interface/interaction design.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Factors, Design or related field of study.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design (UCD) processes.
• Experience in the design of high quality transactional form-based web applications.
• Outstanding portfolio of detailed user interface designs, wireframes, prototypes, interaction flows, site maps, navigation systems and specifications.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Visio. Experience in Flash is a plus.
• Proficiency in cross-browser, W3C standards, HTML, DHTML and JavaScript.
• Understanding of Ajax-based UI components and techniques.
• Experience with both structured and agile development processes.
• Aware of current trends and new technologies in website navigation and browsers, architecture, planning, and usability matters.
• Designing user interfaces for mobile devices is a plus.
• Knowledge of global shipping industry is a plus.
