Description of Duties: Java Developer

- Analyzes computer programming problems and develops solutions
- Codes, tests and documents programs
- Operates under the direct supervision of the Project Manager or senior group member
- With assistance from the PM or a senior group member, works with users as necessary to research and evaluate programming issues
- Assists with software development and maintenance
- Operates under general supervision of the PM or senior group member
- Interfaces with users
- Works with users to research and evaluate problems and system/operation issues
- Assists with systems analysis and design

Summary of Requirements: Java Developer

- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to apply structured methodology

PC
- Experience with Microsoft Windows use and development
- Prefer experience with Oracle, MS SQLServer, SQL, Visual Basic, Access, Novell NetWare, Windows SDK, Java Server Pages (JSP) and XML, Java and HTML

AS/400
- Experience with AS/400 RPG and CL programming
- Experience with Java, HTML, Java Server Pages (JSP) and XML preferred

Programmer
- Basic programming skills and database development
- One year of programming experience

Programmer/Analyst
- Complete working knowledge of online and batch processing
- Two years experience in programming and three or more years experience in software development

Education
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred


Description of Duties: Senior Java Developer

- Performs systems analysis and design
- Interfaces with users to research and evaluate user problems and system/operations problems
- Coordinates testing
- Develops documentation
- Performs programming duties as required
- Provides group leadership and direction in the PM's absence
- Coordinates project teams
- Systems position also
- Maintains systems and data security, and object authority
- Provides technical assistance to the programming and operations departments
- Develops, maintains and manages general purpose objects, such as commands and utilities
- Establishes standard methods and techniques
- Assists in system management activities for system throughput and availability

Communications position also
- Analyzes and designs communications systems and provides communications-related support

Data Warehousing position also
- Analyzes, designs and implements databases for use with Data Warehousing systems


Summary of Requirements: Senior Java Developer

- Multiple broad-based applications experience
- Strong understanding of general business practices
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong programming and database development skills
- Extensive JAVA development
- Experience in SQL, client server development, Oracle, Oracle DBA, Visual Basic, AIX/UNIX/LINUX, HTML, Java Server Pages (JSP) and Servlet programming experience preferred
- Strong RPG and CL skills
- Complete working knowledge of on-line and batch processing

Depending on specialty area:
- Understanding of MOLAP (Multi-dimensional on-line analytical processing) and OLAP (on-line analytical processing) concepts
- Five + years' experience in Web/PC application development
- Four years' experience in AS/400 programming
- Six+ years' experience in software development
- Requires two years' experience with system-level activities

Education
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent
