Quality Assurance Engineer at Veson Nautical (Boston, MA)

As a Veson Nautical QA Engineer you will help ensure product quality and customer satisfaction for the worlds leading developer of commercial maritime shipping software. You will be responsible for the development and execution of manual and automated test cases and QA processes that ensure quality throughout our release schedule. You will have a deep understanding of our customers work-flow and processes and uncover and diagnose problems in new and existing code by running customer centric scenarios. You will document tests, test plans and cases. You will have an important role in notifying developers, managers, field personnel of quality issues, and will lead the effort to identify areas for improvement of overall system quality.

Requirements
0-4 years formal testing or development experience
Passion for quality
Loves a good puzzle and troubleshooting complex problems
Generally enjoys working with software and computers
Experience in manual testing required
Willingness to conduct ad-hoc or exploratory testing with thin documentation
Experience in automated testing a strong plus
Familiarity with object oriented programming languages (C#, Java, or comparable)
Familiarity with at least one scripting language (VB Script, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.)
Familiarity with a defect tracking tool a plus
Relational database knowledge (SQL Server) a plus
Ability to advocate for software changes as necessary
Strong written and oral communication skills
Maritime industry experience a plus
Desire to work in fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting
Proactive, positive approach to work
Legal right to work in U.S.
