Federated Media is looking for an engineering director with in-depth management and hands-on architecture and development experience in a rapidly growing start up. The Director will manage FMs technology platform that runs the business and supports all processes of our advertising and publishing business. Responsibilities:
Lead platform development in a LAMP (php) environment)
Maintain total system knowledge, act as starting point man fir questions from every group.
Manage 5+ engineers on a daily basis and provide mentorship and career development opportunities
Envision and drive improvements to development and deployment processes
Allocate engineering resources to projects according to priority and expertise
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in developing project objectives and timelines.
Essential Functions of the job (main duties):
Exceptional technologist who leads by example
Willing to get your hands dirty in the architecture and development
Requirements of the job, including experience:
5+ years experience managing a team: sensitivity to people growth and management
10+ years in web development
Hands-on object oriented programming in a web environment
Expert knowledge of the full LAMP stack (PHP)
Working knowledge of HTML / Javascript (JQuery)
Previous experience with REST / SOAP API structures
Knowledge of Design Patterns and MVC web frameworks.
Strong knowledge of release process patterns (Agile, Waterfall)
BS in Computer Science or equivalent
Must have permission to work in the US
