Priceline is seeking a Senior Software Engineer/ Senior Java Developer. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for Java development including the analysis, low-level design, development, unit-testing, maintenance, and support of projects related to the Priceline’s Air Product.
Job Description
• The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining backend applications for Priceline’s Air product. These include Search, Booking and the Post Booking amongst other supporting applications.
• The Sr. Software Engineer will work in a small dynamic team that reports to the Air business and maintains close ties with engineering to ensure all applications conform to priceline standards and function within the priceline infrastructure.
• The Senior Software Engineer will act both as an individual contributor and as a team lead as the project dictates.
Required Skills
• Strong object oriented design and development skills
• Strong business analysis skills, experience building & maintaining systems supporting complex business rules
• Multi-threaded application development using Java
• Hands on experience with J2EE technologies
• Oracle SQL, XML, UML, Linux, Unix, IBM MQSeries, ANT
• Strong problem solving skills
• Team player capable of working in a close knit team
• Self-starter willing to take ownership of applications
• Ability to work independently, multitask and manage time effectively
Required Experience
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5+ years experience working on Java server side applications
