Job Title:
Sr. Java Corporate Trainer
Summary:
A Pittsburgh-based software training company is seeking a personable and enthusiastic software trainer with experience developing Java-based web applications. The position will involve delivering instructor-led seminars to corporations and government organizations. A large portion of the training will take place in the Washington D.C. area. Travel will be required for classes held in other locations across the country as well.
Candidates should be comfortable working with and teaching the following technologies: Java Servlets, Java Server Pages, JDBC, Java Multithreading, Web Services, XML, HTML, JavaScript, and Ajax. Knowledge of Spring, Spring MVC, Hibernate, JPA, and jQuery would also be helpful.
Candidates should possess the rare combination of strong technical skills and effective presentation skills. They should be passionate when working with technology, and compassionate when working with people.
At least 3 years of software development and training experience is required for the Senior Trainer position. Candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply for our Junior Trainer position.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver 40-hour corporate training seminars on Java and related technologies.
* Prepare labs and exercises for upcoming courses.
* Prepare pre-class and post-class tests for new courses.
* Book travel reservations for upcoming courses.
* Develop setup instructions that describe to clients how to download and install the software required for a class.
* Participate in conference calls with clients the week before a class, to ensure that students' computers have been properly set-up in advance.
* Participate in conference calls with sales reps and clients, to answer questions about potential training.
* Travel for Washington DC residents: 25%+
* Travel for Pittsburgh PA residents: 75%+
Compensation & Benefits:
* $85-125k per year, depending on experience level and the number of classes the candidate is interested in teaching per year.
