A good indicator of success for new developers is that you know more than one programming language and have little zealotry regarding technologies. You must love learning new things. The kicker: strong communication skills are a definite requirement and weighed evenly with your technical capabilities.

Quasi-Requirements:
- Computer Science Degree with 3.0+ GPA or
- 2+ years web application development experience
- Experience with web application server environments/languages: Java, C#, ColdFusion, ASP.net, JSP and/or PHP
- Solid with JavaScript as well as CSS
- Some SQL experience

Extra points and powerups:
- Ajax toolkits: Extjs, JQuery, etc.
- Java, C#
- SOA
- Salesforce.com and/or Force.com platform knowledge
- Amazon Web Services knowledge
- Google APIs
- GUI design sensibilities
- Like building things that solve client needs elegantly
