Become a core member of a funded, growing startup in Tokyo!
You will be the lead developer responsible for building upon our existing PHP (CodeIgniter) architecture and ensuring world-class standards as our development team grows. We're agile, with weekly releases ? but we're not perfect yet! Help us get there.
As team lead you will nurture a group of 2-3 core developers, making an indelible footprint on the product and those working under your leadership. We?re very collaborative, so you will also work closely with members from other teams building on the service.

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement core components of our translation ordering pipeline, and our translation tools like String and the API
- Work with our SQL guru to create fast, scalable database integration
- Work with our front-end devs collaboratively
- Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks
Requirements:
- 4+ years experience developing in PHP and / or C++
- Experience leading a tight team of high-potential developers
- Great experience working efficiently with relational databases; PostgreSQL a plus
- In-depth knowledge about l10n and i18n best practices
- Great inter-personal skills
Bonus skills:
It?s a bonus, but not required, to have experience in the following:
- GIT
- Human job UIs or crowd-sourcing
- Translation or language-related coding, Natural Language Processing
