The Software Development Managers at SAVO have a dual role of 50% technical (?hands in the code?) and 50% management/leadership. Technical responsibilities include architecture, design and implementation of our products. Management/leadership responsibilities include performance management, career development, mentoring, and helping to knock down barriers that affect the productivity of the team. Along with their team members, the Software Development Manager will work on a feature team consisting of peers from multiple disciplines -- product managers, automation engineers, UI designers, etc. We are looking for an individual that will work well with others and take a holistic product view. Success of these teams is defined by the cross-discipline team delivering the right result and not just specific individuals delivering their results. You should be willing to share your ideas and truly value the ideas of others.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Excellent coding skills in ASP.NET(C#, VB.NET), SQL, HTML, Javascript, CSS, XML Experience with nHibernate or other ORM solutions Experience with relational databases (SQL Server), data modeling background, ETL experience, or strong stored procedure coding experience a plus.
- Well-developed debugging, analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work well in a cross-discipline team environment.
- Ability to work across groups by setting mutual goals, ensuring clarity of roles, and working together in ways which enhance business effectiveness.
- Pursues work with energy, drive, and a strong accomplishment orientation.Works effectively in situations involving uncertainty or lack of information, and responds flexibly to change
- Provides job-relevant learning, developmental experiences, and feedback to enhance individual performance
- Loves to move fast, work with passionate people and is naturally positive in team environments of varying levels of expertise.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor?s degree in a technology discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-10 years software development experience including 2-3 years as manager or team lead.
- Experience leading small/mid-sized development teams on projects, monitoring progress, and ensuring deliverables are met on time and on budget.
- Experience in Agile Software Development and Team Foundation Server a plus.Excellent verbal and written communication skills
