We are searching for an intermediate Ruby on Rails developer to assist in the continuing development of several applications. The ideal candidate will be active in the Rails community, have contributed to open-source projects, and have a portfolio of wide-ranging previous Rails projects.
You?ll be working with a closely-knit team of developers, designers, and interest-holders to mold and guide several projects. But most important is that you can produce high-quality code to meet the product?s needs and that you can deliver on time.
Solid capabilities in database design, TDD/BDD, HTML, CSS, Javascript, & Prototype are a must. In this small team, you?ll need to be very self-sufficient. Learning on the job is important (no one can be an expert on everything) but the more diverse your knowledge-base, the better.
System administration expertise is not necessary, but you should understand the basics of the Rails production stack and be able to make minor server adjustments to support the code you write.
In addition to development, you will be helping to support our application?s user-base. Answering support questions and pro-actively contacting customers about their issues will be required regularly.

Hours
MUST be regularly available to dedicate 20 hours per week. You will need to generally keep normal business hours in order to support our customers as well as collaborate with the rest of the team on an ad-hoc basis.
