We're looking for a CakePHP developer with experience building large-scale web sites and mobile Web applications, and enjoys working with a close-knit team. The right candidate will have the ability to develop high-quality code with well-formed comments, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy solving complex problems. You'll also be responsible for testing, debugging and troubleshooting applications and scripts for different functions, and modifying existing code to add new features as needed.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in web application development with a minimum 1+ year direct experience in a CakePHP application development
- Strong knowledge of PHP5, Javascript, AJAX, UNIX shell, SQL, and XML (5+ years of experience)
- Strong Object Oriented Programming skills are required
- Extensive experience with LAMP stack and open source software in general
- Strong CMS experience with open source systems such as Drupal and Wordpress
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other RDBMSs
- Someone who swears by source/version control systems such as SVN A love for commenting and running well-formed CakePHP tests
- Social media or user-generated content experience a plus
- Experience with mobile development languages such as Java ME and Objective-C is highly desired
- Experience with iPhone, BlackBerry, Nokia, Palm OS, or other mobile Web site development platforms a huge plus
- Must have excellent problem solving skills and love technical challenges
- Must be self-motivated, and able to multi-task
- Must be able to take initiative to be productive and efficient
- BS Degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred
- Someone who isn't allergic to dogs (one of our team members is a quirky little beagle)
