The software tester position is located in Vulnerability Research Labs' Columbia, MD office or Reston, VA (no telecommuting available).
General Responsibilities:
• Perform manual testing, automatic testing, stress testing, and usability testing on custom computer security software
• Give immediate feedback to software developers and work with them to improve the product
• Improve internal testing processes and environment (automating test functions, expanding the test lab, etc)
• Develop (or work with developers) to build testing software and/or test harnesses
Essential Technical Requirements:
• Knowledge of boundary cases that make software fail
• Understanding of network principles (TCP/IP, DHCP, routing, etc) and common architectures (corporate LANs) is a plus
• Code level familiarity with at least one of: Windows, UNIX/Linux, Mac, mobile platforms (iPhone, Android, Blackberry, WinMobile), AIX, HPUX
• Scripting/programming experience (Python, C, C++, Java) a plus
• Familiarity with automated test tools (WATIR, Rational, Selenium) a plus
