Description:
The Web Developer will be involved in developing and maintaining the front end and middle tier code of a major financial website and application service provider enterprise. The Candidate will work with the design team and will be responsible for breaking down graphical designs into functional and modular front end code. The Web Developer will help develop, maintain and optimize all GUI code and client side scripts for the site.
Further responsibilities include helping define standards used to create and code reusable modules/libraries (combining xHTML, JavaScript, AJAX and CSS). The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring that the site is rendering properly and for guaranteeing the best user experience across supported browsers. The Web Developer will also program middle tier code using ColdFusion and C#. The candidate must have strong trouble shooting skills, the ability to work in a team environment and to self-learn.
Requirements:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent
2+ years of front-end technology experience including JavaScript, DHTML, CSS, HTML, XHTML, and XML
Thorough knowledge of CSS (positioning, z-index, etc)
Ability to hand-code pages using CSS for a fluid, non table-based layout of page elements
Experience with a JavaScript framework (Prototype, jQuery, dojo, etc)
Proficiency in identifying and solving cross-browser compatibility issues relating to HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
Good knowledge of Photoshop is required for slicing, cutting and optimizing web graphics for speed and performance
Experience with AJAX and other Web 2.0 technologies preferred
Experience with server side technologies preferably C#, ASP.NET, or ColdFusion is a plus
Have a strong knowledge of up-to-date web design and web standards with respect to concepts of full separation of content from presentation using CSS table-less layout
Interest in Web Application Usability and UI Design
