RGM Advisors, LLC is a proprietary trading firm headquartered in Austin, Texas that applies scientific methods and computing power to trading in multiple asset classes around the world. We write software that trades stocks and other financial instruments worldwide using machine learning and other quantitative techniques, and we have been growing our business while running the software ourselves for over seven years. We have no sales or marketing departments driving our software development.
As a software developer at RGM Advisors, LLC, you will be part of an extremely capable, flexible, and dynamic team. You will write components to connect us to new markets, develop new analysis and simulation tools, work with our quantitative research team to implement and integrate machine learning techniques and tools to implement various trading strategies, reproduce and debug production issues, and maintain and extend the trading platform. Our production and computation servers run on Linux and our systems use a variety of languages and technologies, including modern C++, Java, Python, Perl, bash, and SQL among others. We have also developed a few native Mac OS X tools using Objective-C and Cocoa. We expect you to be proficient in a high-level, object-oriented language (we use a lot of C++), any scripting language, SQL, and have experience working with Unix (preferably Linux).
* Outstanding development and problem solving skills
* Strong understanding of software engineering discipline and best practices
* Experience with modern C++ in a Linux environment is a plus
* SQL and scripting language experience (e.g. bash, Perl, shell, Python, etc.)
* Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
* Experience with quantitative trading software development is a plus
* Experience with high-performance distributed systems is a plus
