THE JOB: Entry-Level Web Designer/Developer:

 Crossborders is looking for an entry-level web designer to work in our Manhattan office.


The position is open to recent graduates or candidates with less than two years working experience.  It is ideal for someone who is looking to develop their skills while working in an exciting company that has the soul of a startup (but the clients of an established shop).

 

Applicants must be comfortable using the full Adobe suite to design for web, print and interactive.  Our ideal candidate also has the skill set to develop front end templates from designs, believes in web standards, and is aware of the latest web technology trends.

 
We're a small group, and we like to include everyone during the lifecycle of our projects. You should be comfortable contributing your thoughts and ideas with the team from discovery through development.  Your portfolio should reflect your proficiency as both a designer and front-end developer.  At Crossborders, you'll work on projects ranging from marketing websites, microsites, online community networks, mobile applications, and widgets.

 
THE REQUIREMENTS:

 
Should be fluent with:

Photoshop (or Fireworks)

Illustrator

InDesign

After Effects and Flash are a bonus

 

Ability to code with:
CSS 2.1

HTML 4
Javascript libraries (JQuery, Mootools, etc)

PHP knowledge is a bonus (especially the Expression Engine framework)

We also have some flash needs occasionally, so some knowledge of Actionscript is great too.

 
You should be comfortable working with or without direction and be able to work on multiple projects at once.
