Operations Engineer/Linux Systems Administrator
Addmired Inc is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Operations Engineer.
This position is full-time, based at our office in Sunnyvale.
The System Operations Engineer is responsible for keeping our games up and running as well as
building out our server infrastructure to support future games.
Duties:
- Manage our global, 24-7/always-on, multi-game infrastructure
- Oversee and execute planned network maintenance work, minimizing impact on our live games.
Requirements:
- Experience running medium-large scale system in LAMP environment (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).
- Participate in on-call rotation and perform off-hour maintenance activities
- Strong working knowledge of Linux/UNIX internals and core system services (DNS, smtp, syslog, iptables, etc)
- Experience with open source monitoring and alerting systems(Nagios, cacti, etc...)
- Knowledgeable in configuring MySQL servers and running replication.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for start-up work
Desirable:
- Experience with systems/configuration management(Puppet, Chef, CFEngine, etc.)
- Experience with network security- firewalls/ACLs, VPN services
- Experience with PHP, Perl, bash
- Experience with VMware or XEN based virtualization
- BA/BS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
