Forum One is currently seeking a Information Architect / Interaction Designer to create mission-driven audience-centric user experiences on the web. The ideal candidate is an experienced practitioner, both creative and detail-oriented, who understands how business goals, users’ needs, branding guidelines, and technology work together to create an optimal user experience. We seek a tinkerer.  Someone who notices the usability of every day objects and longs to make them better.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support a diverse range of consulting engagements
  • Engage in comprehensive user research and usability testing to gain a thorough understanding of the client’s goals, mission and needs, along with the needs of its audience
  • Produce user-centered design documentation including concept models, personas, sitemaps,  usability reports, user flows and wireframes
  • Evaluate clients' web-sites for usability opportunities

Key Qualifications

  • Detailed portfolio of wireframes, site maps, navigation systems, user flow diagrams, personas, heuristics assessments, functional specifications, and resulting web designs
  • Outstanding writing and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to interact with clients, manage expectations, and communicate persuasively
  • Positive attitude and ability to flex, as needed
  • Demonstrated familiarity with web technologies and solutions that enhance the user experience
  • Ability to diagnose, prioritize, and solve problems proactively
  • Experience collaborating with others and working in small teams
  • Understanding of web standards, search engine optimization methods and accessibility guidelines
  • Visual design or front-end development skills a plus
  • Experience with non-profit, government sectors desired
  • 2+ years experience in information architecture / human factors / or related field
  • Meticulous, hard working, detail-oriented, creative, reliable, positive, fun!
