They design and implement applications, databases, and systems, having responsibility for all phases of development. Software Engineers work closely with other departments to ensure that FactSet’s products and technologies are extremely responsive to the changing needs of the investment community.

FactSet’s hands-off management style encourages developers to take initiative to complete projects, manage multiple tasks, and set their own day-to-day priorities. Following training, the Software Engineer has immediate opportunities for creative software development. Engineering opportunities exist in the Norwalk, CT, New York, NY, Chicago, IL, and San Mateo, CA offices.

Requirements:
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
• Desire to both design and implement superior software
• Experience programming in C++ or an OOP language

Desirable experience in any of the following focus areas:
• Strong C++ programming skills
• Win32, MFC, and Visual Studio, COM, ATL
• Excellent understanding of OS, kernel and CPU architectures
• C/C++ generic programming, including STL, boost
• Windows, Unix or VMS system programming environments
• Low level network programming (Threads, Sockets, etc.)
• GUI and event-driven programming
• Working with and managing a large code base
• Programming in a multi-threaded, distributed environment
