Quantcast is hiring an exceptional software engineer to join our Real-Time bidding team focused on the development of key infrastructure components in a globally distributed software system. This system runs on 100s of servers and responds to billions of web transactions per day. This is a unique opportunity to join a small team working with one of the most advanced distributed infrastructures in the world.
The ideal candidate in this role will be intensely curious about what's going on "under the hood" of our infrastructure. While many companies have globally distributed infrastructures with high traffic demands, Quantcast is the only company where you'll get an opportunity to get your hands on the system and start pushing mission critical, production code within a few weeks of starting.
Responsibilities:
· Design and develop globally distributed software system that runs on 100s of servers and responds to billions of web transactions per day
· Develop systems to apply proprietary Quantcast data to ad campaigns and interface with 3rd party ad systems in real time
· Craft top quality code in C++, Java and Ruby
· Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems whenever they occur
· Release production-ready code several times per week
Requirements:
· B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field
· Development experience with C, C++ and Java
· Experience developing in Ruby or Python
· Solid grasp of Linux a necessity
· Networking or filesystem development experience a major plus
· Exposure to large scale, distributed systems a plus
