Overview:
The Front End Web Developer will work on site-wide navigation, e-commerce, digital ebook, community, search and product pages, as well as create new and exciting features for our world-class site using the latest Web 2.0 technologies. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and become immersed in projects where you contribute your strengths as an expert developer.
Responsibilities:
- Develop responsive and elegant cross-platform functionality with Javascript, XHTML, XSLT and CSS
- Actively contribute to the overall design and architecture of solutions
- Research new technologies and approaches to address business needs and improve existing systems
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in web application development (preferably in a windows environment)
- Expert level knowledge and experience in Javascript, and AJAX
- Strong working knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, XSLT and JSON as well as other web development/production tools
- In-depth knowledge of jQuery and other JS Libraries
- Knowledge of cross-browser limitations and work-arounds
- Strong project management skills and to be able to work both independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer Science or engineering background a strong plus
- TDD, Agile/Scrum experience also a plus
