Job Description:

Determines computer user needs'' advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements'' designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgment and formal software process.

Qualifications:

BS degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 9 years experience or an MS degree with 6 years of experience.
Additional qualifications include:
A minimum background of 4 years recent experience in a combination the following areas:
-Linux system design and/or development, Linux kernel development as demonstrated by accepted submissions to the Linux kernel
-Deep knowledge and hands on code development for least one of the following areas of interest: Intel Architecture (Core, Pentium, Atom or other x86) kernel code, device drivers, embedded system bring-up and debug
