The Kindle Cross Platform team (iPad/iPhone, PC, Mac, Android) is looking for a innovative, results-oriented Software Development Engineer to help us change the way people read books on their computers. This team designs, develops, and produces a website experience that enhances client applications built around the Amazon Kindle reading device.
This position is focused on webserivces (C++/Java) and website development (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JSP, PERL, etc...). Our sites will be both tuned for mobile web browsing as well as desktop, laptop, and touch aware devices (iPad, tablets, etc...)
What we are looking for (not all required):
*1-3+ years of experience building production software
*A passion for UI development for advanced and novice web surfers
*A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field)
*Mastery of the tools of the trade, including a variety of modern programming languages (C/C++, Java, PERL, Web Services) and platforms (Windows, Macintosh, Windows Mobile, Linux, iPad/iPhone).
*Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
