About The Position
This is a special, lead role for a highly motivated, creative, and technologically passionate contributor with significant real-world experience. You never say "it cannot be done" but instead provide solutions to everyday development issues - big and small. You enjoy working in a small team with a full-time front end-developer, user-experience director and various freelance talent. You are not someone who lives off tight deadlines and nocturnal coding sprints but instead thrive under traditional business hours and a healthy dose of teamwork. This position will work directly with the publisher and user experience director, requires the ability to plan, develop and implement projects and most importantly understands how to deliver quality working applications to the end-user. This position will have direct influence over technology implemented and development timelines and priorities.
This position is full-time and provides competitive salary and benefits.
Requirements for the Position
- 5+ years of programming development experience
- object-oriented design and patterns
- object-oriented PHP
- unit testing
- experience with one other dynamic language, preferably Ruby
- MySQL programming and administration
- familiarity with MVC frameworks
- experience with version control technologies (Subversion/git)
- solid grasp of front end technologies (DOM/DHTML/JS/AJAX/JQuery/Prototype)
- Unix/Linux administration experience
- configuration of web servers (Apache/nginx)
- clustering and scalability design
- familiarity with Drupal
