## Job Description:
Chapdelaine & Co. is seeking a Senior UNIX / Windows Systems Administrator (SAGE
Level IV) who finds pride in their work and is passionate about design,
automation, and excellence in implementation. The position's focus will be on
UNIX systems, but knowledge and experience with Windows, including integration
with UNIX, will be an important asset.
## Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a small team to manage the entire systems infrastructure
and network infrastructure of Chapdelaine
- Deploy, maintain, & backup systems
- Automate systems tasks using tools such as Puppet and custom scripts
- Standardize and document systems using industry best practices
- Design new systems with regard to performance, growth, & reliability
- Share on call duties with the other SAs
- Be willing to quickly tackle new initiatives
## Qualifications:
- Systems:
- Desire and ability to think, learn & work independently
- Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment
- Experience with software and hardware troubleshooting in both UNIX and
Windows environments
- Strong UNIX experience, with a principal focus on Linux, specifically
Debian
- Automation experience with Puppet and custom written programs
- Scripting knowledge: Ruby, Shell, Perl
- Infrastructure monitoring with Nagios and custom written plugins
- Database experience with MySQL, Sybase, & PostgreSQL
- Use of revision control systems: Git, Subversion
- Knowledge of Apache, Tomcat, BIND, OpenLDAP, Samba, NFS, Zimbra
- SAN and NAS infrastructure design, deployment, and maintenance
- Strong capacity to automate and customize the installation of machines
using FAI, JumpStart, Kickstart and related software
- Networking:
- Firewall knowledge, specifically Check Point
- Ability to manage routers, add delete routes, subnets, etc
- Adept at analyzing and fixing network problems
- Ability to run cables, rack switches, etc
- Miscellaneous:
- Existing Authorization to work in the United States is required
- No relocation support is currently available for this position
