Beyond Oblivion Inc.: Senior Visual / UI Designer

Beyond Oblivion is revolutionizing the digital music industry from the business model to the way people discover and consume music.  With unlimited access to music, and an online/offline catalog of music that reaches in to the tens of millions of tracks, the way people think about their personal music collection changes.  Beyond is looking for a senior Visual / UI rock star that shares the Company?s radical and disruptive vision and has the brilliance, fortitude, energy and commitment to create award winning visuals and a user experience that goes beyond leading existing music services such as Spotify, Mog, and Rdio. - Quickly yet thoroughly create process flows, wireframes, and visual 

  design mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and

  communicate detailed interaction behaviors.

- Work closely with developers, product management and UX

  designers throughout all stages of the product lifecycle to develop

  creative solutions to complex problems.

- As our first in-house visual design hire, you will evolve existing look

  & feel guidelines and own the ongoing visual design.

- Create art assets, icons, and visual elements.

- Manage the rapid iteration of that visual language as it pertains to

  the final product.

- Collaborating on experience flows and interaction design with the 

  UX team.

- Minimum 5 years of interactive web and visual design experience.  

  Experience in mobile software UI design and skinning Flex

  components a huge plus.

- Familiar with (or willing to read) platform-specific documentation;

  Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Android UI Guidelines, etc.

- Self-starter who is a customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and

  enthusiastic team player that gets excited about the controlled

  chaos of a high growth startup.

- Must be able to conceptualize user interfaces with superior clarity,

  ease of use, and visual balance.

- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical

  skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design

  concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and

  varying levels of the organization.

- Ability to work with highly technical teams and handle multiple

  projects in an agile, fast-paced environment.

- Experience in rapid iteration.

- Expertise in Adobe suite of products.

- Ability to prototype in HTML, CSS, or Flash highly desired.

- A strong online portfolio demonstrating past work experience and

  relevant, user-centered design solutions is required, ideally cross

  multiple platforms including PC/Mac, mobile, IPTV, etc.

- Have demonstrated a mastery of the creative stack and CSS+HTML.

- Have experience designing for Flex interfaces and complex

  interactive apps.

- A good sense of humor is a must.
