The Salvation Army: Web Producer

The Web Producer is part of the Public Relations and Development team with responsibilities in website production and management.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be responsible for using the full capability of the web to increase awareness and support for the mission of The Salvation Army, as well as maximizing its use as a communications tool internally and externally.  The Web Producer gives overall direction to the territorial website(s) and social media accounts – organizing and designing SalvationArmy.ca, sourcing, writing and producing regular features and reports, promoting national events and posting news releases.  The incumbent monitors, analyzes and reports on web usage and creatively finds ways to increase the number of visitors.  Managing the “web community” also involves the use of interactive elements, responding to issues, liaising with THQ IT on technical matters and ensuring adherence to territorial policies.  With this knowledge, the web producer can provide advice and training to the Salvation Army personnel on how to use their online tools and opportunities to raise funds online.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate must have a post secondary degree or diploma in journalism, marketing, graphic design or a related subject. They need to have high standards of integrity, judgment and confidentiality; with a willingness to adhere to the values of The Salvation Army and Fundraising Code of Ethics. The individual needs to have a comprehensive understanding of The Salvation Army and its culture, with a strong desire to participate in its mission.  The incumbent will have proven computer skills including the ability to design and manage websites using software such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Illustrator. Experience with social media applications is a must (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube etc.) as the role will require the management of The Salvation Army’s social media efforts. The ability to communicate in French is an asset as there may be requirements to produce French versions of the website.

 

STARTING SALARY BETWEEN: $36,036.00 - $46,846.80

SALARY GRADE:  11, based on a 35 hour work week
