LAC Group, a leading managed services and staffing organization dedicated to providing organizations with total solutions for managing information projects, is seeking a Project Leader with in-depth experience in video and digital media asset management, preferably within a broadcast media environment. The successful applicant will have responsibility for hands-on oversight of the digital preservation, ingest, research functions and services provided to a major media organization located in New York City. The Project Leader, Video Resource Group, has 4 direct reports; each of whom also has management of staff. The Project Leader, reports directly to LAC Group's corporate oversight liaison.
Position Overview
Lead and direct a team of approximately 20+ full-time staff, and 12 part-time staff comprising the Video Resource Group (VRG), a digital media operation encompassing multiple tasks and responsibilities supporting the ingest and preservation of digital media to a proprietary digital asset management (DAM) system.
Primary Responsibilities
â?¢ Manage the budget and relationship of third party provider for off-site/cold storage
â?¢ Provide strategic planning and implementation on immediate projects, including centralizing distributed operations and staff into one location, as well as conducting an in depth workflow analysis and staffing audit
â?¢ Meet with project supervisors and staff on a regular basis, and provide support, supervision and guidance
â?¢ Responsible for leading overall design, implementation and workflow of the Digital Asset Management
â?¢ Manages the DAM overall and facilitates the uploading of assets as well as coordinating with others to maintain and upgrade the system
â?¢ Manages all media assets, including hard and digital assets
â?¢ Develops a sourcing strategy for raw assets and works with the producer teams to ensure that assets are available for use
â?¢ Works closely with asset management stakeholders (producers and their staff, business operations, facilities, technology, etc.)
â?¢ Have an understanding of or exposure to video and audio technological equipment in a news / broadcast environment.
Qualifications
â?¢ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Masters preferred.
â?¢ Minimum 10 years' related experience. 8 years' prior supervisory experience preferred.
â?¢ Broad knowledge of the business of media, technology and broadcast news industries highly desirable.
â?¢ Deep experience in Digital Asset Management solutions. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of Digital Asset Management solutions and their experience in designing, managing, and operational processes in their career.
â?¢ Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
â?¢ Strong negotiator, communicator, collaborator, and team player.
â?¢ Experience in a large media, technology or internet company
â?¢ Success at achieving sophisticated process or technology goals on-time and on-budget
