This position plays an integral role in the development of web applications and services for our customers, partners and fellow booksellers. The Project Leader works with our sponsors, users and our development team to design, develop, deploy and support web-based solutions that can be applied to current challenges and used to develop new opportunities. Specifically, you will use multiple skills that include relational database design and development, application development focused on (but not limited to) the .net framework and presentation-level coding that requires a solid background in markup languages and rich interface development for the web. The Project Leader will be self-managing and a mentor to junior members of the development team and is expected to be proficient and participate in all parts of the software development life cycle.

Responsibilities:

The Project Leader will help to build solutions from complex requirements and support the reliability of these solutions in production settings. A strong candidate is an individual that develops creative solutions to difficult challenges, can incorporate their ideas with those of others and can excel in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in related technologies
Strong analytical, interpersonal, prioritization and communication skills
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX and rich client interface skills; Flex, Flare, ActionScript experience a plus. Solid JavaScript skills required.
Strong experience on web service, web application fundamentals and experience in the Microsoft Development Stack
Prior programming experience in an ASP.Net 2.0/3.5 and SQL Server 2005/2008 environment including Analysis Services and Reporting Services. Specific work in C#
Concrete knowledge of SOAP and REST web services practices and standards
Skills related to LAMP-based stacks, including MySQL and Java/J2EE with Oracle development highly desirable
Experience with content management systems and source code management systems
Experience with business intelligence, data mining and data visualization
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or similar) required. Masters preferred
