Responsibilities:
- Architect, design and implement highly scalable and reliable enterprise n-tier distributed applications using java technologies based on distributed cache solution, enabling integration of rich Internet applications with back-end data services and external financial data services partners/exchanges.
- Produce high quality production software using industry best practices
- Produce excellent, thorough, and concise requirements, design, and development documentation
- The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication
- The candidate will also have extensive experience in a fast-paced and innovative development environment
Qualifications:
- Ability to work under tight time constraints with changing requirements
- 2-6 years of professional development experience with agile Java Enterprise Development
a. Test-driven development (JUnit)
b. Continuous integration (TeamCity builds)
c. Stress testing (JMeter/LoadRunner etc)
- Proficiency in OOP principles
- Proficiency in web services and modern web services frameworks such as Axis2
- JBoss / Tomcat / Glassfish / Weblogic or other containers; clustering experience
- Experience with large distributed caches (Coherence/Gemfire/JBoss cache) of 5GB and more.
- Experience with loading and storing large amounts of data from/into Oracle (no Hibernate).
- Knowledge about Adobe Flex/AJAX Development
- SVN/CVS/Perforce or other version control systems
- Proficiency in modern web application frameworks such as Spring/Struts/Grails is a plus.
- Very good linux skills
- Deep understanding of the garbage collection tuning is a plus.
- Hands-on profiling skills (YourKit/JProfiler etc)
- Knowledge of FIX/SWIFT Protocol is a plus
- Experience in financial industry is a plus; knowledge about financial derivatives is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
