Program Manager, North America / The Forest Trust / Portland, OR

The Forest Trust (TFT) is a global organization that utilizes market forces to conserve forests, protect biodiversity, and improve people's lives.

TFT partners with Members - retailers, manufacturers and suppliers - to deliver responsible products to the marketplace. We currently seek to recruit a Member Program Manager to play a leadership role in our expanding North America program.

Position Overview:
The Program Manager works with the head of TFT's North America Program, reports to the Member Program Director and is responsible for providing an exemplary level of support to TFT Members located in North America, linking supply chains to TFT projects throughout the globe, and spreading the reach and impact of TFT in North America.

Responsibilities:
* Full operational responsibility for understanding Member sourcing needs and ensuring TFT facilitates successful delivery by liaising between Members and TFT Field Team
* Responsibility for developing wood risk assessments and Member workplans, managing Member communications and labeling, and monitoring progress towards Member goals
* Advising Members on their wood sourcing impacts, how to meet legality requirements, how to move towards FSC-certified products, and offering support to address any issues of concern or opportunities for improvement
* Recruitment of new Member and new Business Clients to TFT
* Close liaison with all relevant stakeholder groups and industry bodies

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the required qualifications:
* Commitment to the mission and values of TFT
* Excellent knowledge of secondary forest products and associated supply chains
* Professional experience in the North American retail industry, secondary forest products trade and markets
* Strong understanding of the Lacey Act and associated compliance issues, and certification
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
* High level of competence in project management, working within a decentralized global network
* Extremely detail-oriented
* A self-starter, a finisher, and a motivator

Location: To be agreed upon, with strong preference for Portland, OR
