The AOL Design Studio in New York is looking for a UI Director to work on its industry-leading sites. AOL sites have been top-ranked in their respective categories and we are looking for someone who can continue this success, while working to take them in exciting new directions.
We are seeking talented people to help redefine our content experience and platforms for the future of AOL.
Accountable for developing and executing design solutions for assigned portions of projects in the areas of information layout and the users experience with the content. Develops and executes interface design solutions including: site layouts, site maps, navigation design, content inventories, information organization models, error handling and icons.
Responsibilities:
? Acts as a recognized and active resource on interface design issues and computer/human interaction for others in the company.
? Possesses complete understanding of the overall vision of the project.
? Regarded as high-level expert possessing in-depth knowledge of AOL tools, work procedures, and the online industry.
? Possesses strong interface design skills, including execution of clean, clear interfaces for a variety of consumer audiences.
? Possesses an expert understanding of interface design principles.
? Possesses expert knowledge in the interface limitations and capabilities of a broad range of platforms
? Works closely with design and technical leads to establish and maintain functional and aesthetic product consistencies.
? Works closely with, and monitors the work of Sr. Interface Designers and Interface Designers to create and design user interfaces that meet AOL needs.
Qualified candidates will have:
? Bachelor?s degree (Masters, Fine Arts preferred) or equivalent experience.
? 6-8 years of directly related experience in information design.
