We’re seeking an awesome, experienced, innovative designer to join our team and work on unique, fun and engaging social games! We're looking for someone who is excited about gaming, the web, and creating the best social games around.
We’re need someone who can handle multiple design disciplines; we’re a small team and everyone here wears many hats. The ideal candidate would be an experienced and accomplished web and UI designer with some experience designing social and/or online games.
Meta+Level Games is a News Corp. company dedicated to developing fun, engaging and unique online social games. We’re a small team with a passion for the web, technology, gaming and most importantly: fun.
Our offices are located in the mostly sunny South Beach area of San Francisco (just up the street from the ballpark! w00t!) and you’ll find us there most days working on new, inventive and fun ways to, well... have fun!
What you'll be doing:
Working with our team to develop online & social games. You’ll be in charge of the design of our games, from concept on. You’ll be working on the game mechanics, the look and feel of the UI, playtesting, content creation and more.
What we're looking for:
* At least 5 years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, user interface designer, or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Flash. (This is not a developer job, but should know your way around code.)
* Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Omnigraffle, Fireworks, etc.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A creative and analytical problem solver.
* A passion for creating fun & compelling user experiences.
* A user- and play-centric approach to design.
* The ability to handle responsibility, collaborate and excel in small team environment.
* The ability to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing, fast-paced creative environment.
* A solid interest in social gaming and a willingness to learn game design.
You'd be extra awesome if you have:
* In-depth knowledge of casual or multiplayer/online games.
* Previous game design experience.
* Experience with Flash.
* Other creative skills (creative writing, illustration, etc.)
* Experience with mobile design, specifically for iPhone.
