Geary Interactive is an established and leading digital marketing agency with locations in downtown San Diego and San Francisco as part of Geary Group, a digital holding company providing next generation digital services for today?s marketers. We are looking for a highly driven Information Architect. Quite literally, information architects are the planners of how to present certain information to end users. They work behind the scenes, taking into account the purpose and goals of the clients, and the best way to articulate those purposes and goals to the target audience. We are seeking an Information Architect & User Experience Expert who will be responsible for creating great experiences for several online client properties. You will work collaboratively with fellow members of internal and external teams to conceptualize, wireframe and prototype ideas; then inspire team members & client members to move forward with creative executions that fit your framework and usability models. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ? Represent the "User Experience, " translate customer requirements into defined specifications and inspire the team to develop the right product. ? Develop measurable KPI's from business goals and document strategic user paths to key pages and critical user actions ? Own the sitemap and content mapping and define site architecture and navigation that serves as a blueprint of the site upon which all other aspects are built ? Significantly influence the strategy of user engagement and interface usability. Translate models into measurable tasks and exercises for focus group testing and objective user experience measurement ? Work with the teams to make sure that the workflow reflects the customer's needs and ensures consistency among features. ? Develop expert-level knowledge of competitive and complementary products, upselling & cross selling and bring new ideas to the team and the clients. ? Define innovative user interaction styles which result in improved user productivity and position consistent, hueristic usability models with project-specific execution decisions. ? Analyze audiences and their information and functional needs Experience Requirements ? High degree of creativity, interaction design and problem solving ability ? Uncanny drive to help create the best-in-class user experience ? Strong experience design communication skills. (Ability to communicate one's ideas through their tools and process) ? Proven track record (real work examples required) ? Excellent presentation skills & and attention to detail ? Experience working with various departments within an agency team ? Experience working with various clients/industries within an agency setting ? Team player ? A great portfolio of work / samples of interaction design work is a must ? A formal education in Interaction Design, Product Design, Industrial ? Design, HCI, Architecture, or related field from NID / IDC or equivalent ? would help ? 5-10 years relevant work experience ? Experience working on large, complex sites ? Experience observing user research and translating user research into design decisions Education Requirements The education requirements for an information architect will depend heavily on the company and what their needs are. However, some common education requirements include: ? BA or BS in the following: Graphic/Visual Arts, Library and Information Science, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Information Sciences, Marketing, Industrial Design, Fine Arts, or a related area ? Professional and Personal Skills Skills that an information architect is expected to have: ? Strong knowledge of site design; mastery in principles of Web design ? Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology ? Working knowledge of User Centered Design Principles and Practices ? Exceptional communication skills ? Good leadership and interpersonal skills ? Detail-oriented ? Comfortable in a fast-paced environment ? Knowledge of architecture-related software (Illustrator, Visio, Omnigraffle)
