Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, MN, is seeking a Senior User Experience Designer in our Global Products & Services (GPS) - User Experience Department. Utilizing a "design thinking" approach, this proactive, highly productive professional will identify unmet user needs and create new product and service concepts to address them. Responsibilities include planning and conducting generative user research, synthesizing data to yield actionable insights and communicating them to product sponsors in a clear and compelling manner and facilitating cross-functional participation in the conceptual design process.
The selected candidate will take a leadership role in most of the duties described above, in addition to developing new methods to support projects involving Web, mobile, print and service design and providing the advanced knowledge needed to act as consultant and expert to other UE designers. Requires BA/BS in interaction, graphic or industrial design, HCI or a related field, plus 10 years UE design experience; or a master's and 5 years' experience.
Position requires proven knowledge of design research tools and methods, including ethnography, field observation, usability and prototype testing, and contextual inquiry. Excellent analytical, articulation and presentation skills are essential, as well as highly effective relationship management abilities involving multidisciplinary teams. Master's degree preferred.
