We seek an innovative product manager who will help WeatherBill innovate in providing the world's first online weather insurance product platform to consumers and businesses in a range of industries from travel to events to agriculture. The successful candidate for this role is someone who has deep experience building online SaaS transaction platforms for enterprise and/or consumer channels.
What you will do:
* Define and prioritize product enhancements based on business requirements
* Develop product roadmaps and functional footprints
* Work closely with channel partners, internal sales ops and engineering team to define platform requirements
* Develop Product Requirements Documents in the form of user stories:
* Develop process flows
* Detail functional and system requirements
* Highlight existing products/components affected
* Create entity relationship diagrams and understand, review data models to ensure data relationships reflect the requirements
* Provide input to and validate quality assurance plans to support test driven development
* Work closely with the various internal groups, customers, and development teams in all aspects of the product lifecycle.
* Communicate and coordinate with the appropriate teams
* Support sales and marketing, as necessary, with feature updates and changes
Your experience and qualities:
* 5+ years software product management experience, with experience dealing directly with enterprise customers on web-based products; preferably with direct engineering and/or engineering management experience
* Proactive, results-oriented, and entrepreneurial; you want to work on an intellectually challenging and innovative platform that will meaningfully change the way millions of people manage risk - personally and in business
* Experience using Agile to develop Internet products and technologies; comfortable with SCRUM and iterative development
* Well-developed leadership, management, and strategic-thinking skills
* Fast, fluid and flexible work style
* Business-minded with an understanding of trading long-term value for short-term success
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Experience with data modeling and good understanding of large-scale data issues preferred
* Experience with financial services or insurance/risk management products a plus
