Were looking for an experienced software engineer who can play a lead role in improving our software tools, build and release infrastructure. This position will involve evolving a complex development environment into a more manageable system that streamlines both the build and deployment experiences. Define and implement a software packaging strategy for internal server deployments
Deploy systems and tools necessary to fulfill the defined package and release process
Restructure code modules and adapt existing systems into the software development and release process
Define strategies for maintaining compatibility and gracefully upgrading systems
Guide development and operations teams in making effective use of the build and release tools
Heres what you need to be successful:
Intimate knowledge of software packaging and distribution systems (e.g. RPM, Yum, etc.)
Strong experiences in makefile management, shell scripting and perforce in a Unix environment
Experience working in a complex development environment involving multiple languages (C++, Java, PHP, Perl, etc.)
Strong communication and documentation skills
Heres what would make you stand out:
Prior experience with transforming an existing software development environment
Broad experience with software build and release activities, including branching, merging, building and deploying
Previous experience in configuring and building Linux tools and libraries
2+ years of programming experience in C++
