Labs Architect at Bazaarvoice (Austin, TX)

Bazaarvoice is hiring a full time engineer for its Labs group located in Austin, TX in a senior level architect role. This group is responsible for launching customer driven product pilots and 3rd party technology integrations that push the boundaries of the Bazaarvoice platform and drive innovation forward within the company. In addition to launching pilots, the Labs team is responsible for exploring new social technologies, web APIs, 3rd party and partner technology integrations, data mining and analytics projects.

The ideal candidate meets these requirements:



- BA/BS or equivalent with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or similar

- 7-10 years experience in web development

- Love of rapid, iterative customer-centric development

- Experience with end-to-end web development

- A hacker's mentality to get things up and running quickly (rapid iteration is the key to Labsprojects)

- Knowledge of dynamic languages like Python or Ruby

- Experience developing rich applications and user interfaces with JavaScript (JS library knowledge encouraged)

- Love for experimenting with new application development technologies and tool sets (e.g. Rails, Django, Grails, Scala/Lift, Node)

- Familiarity with database, webserver, and linux administration

- A good eye for design and user experience

- Experience mentoring other developers

- Proven leader in making technical decisions that can impact the direction of a project
