RealTime Health is seeking a Software Developer to join our engineering team, working on our clinical discharge support systems.
We are a young, innovative small business, and are leaders in patient flow and clinical process improvement. RealTime is modelled on a proven clinical process improvement methodology, and combines a business intelligence reporting and KPI engine. RealTime has recently been short-listed for two business awards and is already recognised as a leading player in the health IT and process change industries.
Based in Oxford, you will work in our production environment using a range of open source tools. Our commitment to creativity and innovative software means that we want to attract the most talented people in the industry.
We are looking for a Graduate Software Developer to join our skilled Software Development team. This team uses a backlog-driven Agile development approach delivered through automated build and Product Management and Issue Tracking systems, all fed by a focused, customer driven Product Roadmap.
The position will involve working across all aspects of product engineering including backend integration through to UI development delivered through the Flex framework.
To find out more about RealTime Health, please visit our website at http://www.realtimehealth.net
Your main responsibilities will include:
Translating feature requests into software product solutions
Architecting new functionality
Using OO Design and Java to implement designs through the RealTime product architecture
Testing and debugging the implementation
Providing Customer Support services as a part of a team, including liaison with customers
Visiting customer sites to deploy product solutions
Providing software engineering as a part of a customer project team
Analysing, understanding and fixing issues found during the QA and Support process
Our software is written mainly with a combination of Java (Server) and Adobe Flex (UI). Experience in these technologies (+ Spring, Hibernate, Groovy, XML, SQL, XSLT; J2EE, Web Services; Maven2; git; SQL*Server; HTML; UML) would be an advantage, but an ability to pick up new skills as needed is more important. In integrating with external systems we often come across other environments such as C# and even legacy systems. Internally, we tend to prefer OSS technologies in build and test, so a capacity to navigate around a Linux desktop would be useful.
You will need to meet the following basic requirements:
2.1 or First class degree in an engineering, maths or scientific discipline
Confident communicator
Fast learner who enjoys learning
Highly motivated, manager of one
A pragmatic approach to work, eager to build things and complete projects
Ability to solve technically challenging problems
Keen to take on responsibility
What youll get from us:
Competitive salary
Fast moving, agile development.
Flexible work environment; visibility of the complete lifecycle
Organisational freedom (no IT department interference)
Opportunity to grow with the company
