We're looking for a great engineer who wants to take the lead in building a fun website to help people raise money for causes while searching the web. It's a great opportunity to join a small team and drive the development of a worthwhile product.
KindCoins is a search platform that will help people raise money for causes in a fun, engaging manner. We have launched an early prototype at www.kindcoins.com.
We are seeking a strong Lead Developer who will be responsible for owning the development and architecture of this platform. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background with deep experience building consumer web and social applications. Since the operational and software requirements of this business will be small, the team will also be very lean and we don't plan to raise outside financing.
From a technical standpoint, we’d like to find someone who can build the entire application from scratch. Full knowledge of the stack is required. Our prototype is built in Rails so being an expert there would be a big plus. We’re looking for someone who loves to build great, innovative consumer applications.
Beyond the technical aspects of the job, we’re looking for someone who will be capable of helping to push the business vision forward. We work in a very collaborative style so great ideas are always welcome.

Skills:
- Knowledge and experience with Ruby on Rails or PHP plus MySQL (prototype is built in Rails)
- Expertise with front-end scripting including: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, jQuery
- Experience developing consumer web applications
- Experience implementing advanced concepts in Google Analytics would be very useful
- Experience building and managing full websites
- Experience or strong interest in gaming applications
- Built for startup life: enthusiastic, self-motivated, and like to work hard but also have fun
- Great communicator
