Changing Our World is looking for a consultant to serve as Director for Strategic Partnerships. This is a long-term assignment (one year) to work exclusively with our client, Research Corporation for Science Advancement (RCSA). There is a possibility of a full-time position with RCSA at the end of the engagement.

The consultant will identify and/or create, as well as execute and evaluate, partnerships between RCSA and private, philanthropic and public institutions. Candidates should possess the capacity to identify, develop, manage and implement complex projects, convene and work with teams of thought leaders, and create strategic partnerships across traditional and non-traditional boundaries. S/he should demonstrate interest in the field of science research, enjoy working in a small, creative, team-driven environment, possess excellent communication and project management skills, and understand the process of fundraising, including sponsorships and grants. The consultant will report directly to Changing Our World but will work closely with RCSA's President, staff and Board to help create and sustain the major initiatives, projects and grant programs of RCSA.

Responsibilities
â?¢ Contribute to overall program strategy of RCSA by forming, leading and growing partnerships from concept to impact
â?¢ Integrate new partnership relationships for maximum value to both partner and RCSA
â?¢ Work with cross-departmental and cross-industry internal and external business and project-leaders and staff to translate strategies into actionable roadmaps
â?¢ Manage relationships with champions and partners by ensuring they receive consistent, quality communications and have highly effective opportunities to engage with our programs
â?¢ Identify opportunities to deepen and expand existing relationships
â?¢ Organize, cultivate and, when appropriate, solicit charitable support from program sponsors and past awardees
â?¢ Drive the on-time execution of deliverables
â?¢ Provide input and support to President, other senior staff members and the Board of Directors in their roles in developing and maintaining partnerships
â?¢ Facilitate productive meetings and fruitful dialogues with a variety of stakeholders, including cultivation events
â?¢ Maintain current knowledge of significant policy and research initiatives related to RCSA's program policy
â?¢ Be the driving force in the development of RCSA's new Partnership Program initiative

Qualifications
â?¢ The requisite skills and experience to function effectively in all areas of the position
â?¢ A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience
â?¢ Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree related to research, the physical sciences, energy or similar field preferred
â?¢ A professional history that evidences acumen regarding research, analyses, writing, and meeting facilitation
â?¢ Ability to build relationships that align multiple interests among multiple institutions to a common goal
â?¢ Fundraising or sales experience a plus
â?¢ Desire to work as part of a team and the ability to do so effectively
â?¢ Excellent verbal and written communicator

Location and Travel Requirements
â?¢ The consultant will work from Changing Our World's office in New York City but will periodically travel to RCSA's office in Tucson and as needed for partnership cultivation and building.
