Front End Web Engineer at Sentry Data Systems (Deerfield Beach, FL; Indianapolis, IN) (telecommute)

Position Description:

Sentry Data Systems is looking for a Front End Web Engineer who brings an innovative, creative and disciplined approach to developing a solid user experience for our web based solutions. The ideal candidate is a highly experienced front end developer with expertise in HTML, XHTML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript (Mootools is a plus) and other related technologies. You will be working closely with developers, technical analysts and our graphics department to bring to life a standards based, well designed and complex user interface that is used by hospitals and pharmacies across the country. You will also occasionally work with the marketing and graphics department to further develop our website and implement new marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities
Continue to develop our product user interface experience.
Collaborate with our IT department and our graphics department, bringing the two together.
Write code that looks and feels more like a desktop application than a web page.

Skills and Experience
Strong HTML, XHTML, and CSS Experience - Candidate must be able to hand-code to standards without error. Candidate also must possess a deep understanding of keeping code, content, and presentation separated.
Strong Communication Skills - A large part of the candidates role will be to effectively communicate the importance of standards and best practices to both technical (web application development teams) and non-technical (project management) audiences.
Strong Teamwork Skills - The candidate will be expected to contribute to frameworks and code libraries that we use to standardize our code deliverables. As such the candidate must be able to work closely with other contributors to ensure that their code contributions meet team standards.
Design Implementation - Candidate must be able to accurately and efficiently implement designs from Adobe Photoshop project files.
Familiarity with at least one web framework (Django, Ruby on Rails, CakePHP, etc.).
PHP experience is a plus.
Candidate must have examples of previous work provided prior to the interview and be ready to translate a simple Adobe Photoshop file to a website within 30-45 minutes.
