Position Summary: Information Technology Services (ITS) is NYU's central organization for technology-based services for University faculty, students, staff, and administrators. ITS provides computer, network, telephony and Internet services to the entire University. ITS comprises the Office of the Chief Information Technology Officer and several service departments working together in support of the broad spectrum of University activities.
ITS is seeking an Information Technology Specialist for the .edu eServices NYUHome/NYU Web development team. This person would need knowledge of advanced programming concepts, knowledge of the portal field and its technologies, as well as familiarity with content management systems and web servers, all at the enterprise level.
This position reports to the Technical Team Leader for the eServices Shared Services team.
This position is eligible for the NYUREFER Program
Qualifications/Required Education: Bachelor's degree.
Required Experience: 3 years' relevant experience working with advanced network technology and systems integration or equivalent combination. Must include experience with Internet Information Services, particularly the World Wide Web.
Preferred Experience: Experience in information technology project implementation and development experience; broad programming experience (e.g. for internet, operating systems, applications); or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience with enterprise content management systems, specifically Day CQ, and consequent technologies, Apache, web containers, Java, Perl, databases.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of software development, modems, peripherals and other telecommunications systems. Advanced knowledge of Windows, UNIX, MacOS, SQL, PERL, TCP/IP networks, and programming languages (JAVA, C++).
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels including non-technical users.
