Qmedtrix, a medical data and legal services company located in Portland, Oregon, focuses on enhancing the quality and reducing the cost of medical care through the use of innovative information technologies. The R&D department is a forward-looking team tasked with producing the best predictive and analytic tools in the health care industry.
Our day-to-day work involves data engineering, visualization and analysis; as well as the development of web and machine learning applications. We're building a distributed analytics engine in a polyglot Unix environment, employing Scala for back-end development, Rails and jQuery for any front-end work, and R for data visualization and analytics. Our development stack includes modern open-source tools such as RabbitMQ, ControlTier, Git, and PostgreSQL.
We are currently looking to hire a skilled Devops/QA professional to help us minimize the delay between development and deployment while ensuring the reliability of our system. The ideal candidate has experience handling both QA and deployment in a distributed *nix environment. We are looking to increase our system test coverage and generally increase the efficiency of our deployment process. The person we are looking for should be excited to learn (and perhaps build) new tools.
Required Skills:
QA Experience, Java and/or Ruby exposure, distributed deployment experience, excellent communication skills
Bonuses:

Experience with the JVM, Rails, PostgreSQL, AMQP, ControlTier, and Hudson
This position requires a minimum of two years industry experience and a degree in a relevant discipline (Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) is highly desired. Individuals with experience using any of our other tools or languages will be given preference.
