This is an opportunity to create software which is technically challenging and has tremendous impact. We started with very sophisticated NASA technology and applied it to a problem that challenges hospitals every day. We literally give hospitals the ability to help more people ... and to serve them better.
We are looking for a smart software engineer who can communicate well and has a track record of building deep software applications. A minimum of 4 years experience is required with more senior candidates strongly encouraged.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, MySQL/Databases, Servlets, Hibernate, JQuery, Artificial Intelligence, and User Interfaces (but none of these are strictly required). Equally important is the ability to jump into problem domains and envision technical solutions in terms of their impact on the end user.
This is a unique startup opportunity:
* You'll be an early technical employee with corresponding opportunities for growth, leadership, and having a direct impact.
* We look for smart, creative thinkers, not a collection of buzzwords and skills that are quickly obsolete.
* You'll be working on a very practical system that helps people in hospitals.
* We have deep experience creating successful products and companies.
* We are a well funded startup with an installed base of customers and recurring revenues.
* Technical challenges include issues of user interface, np-hard problems, constraint satisfaction, and temporal systems.
Allocade, Inc. is a healthcare software company located in Menlo Park, Calif. We've built an "air traffic control" system for hospitals. Using technology derived from NASA, we help hospitals manage the daily chaos of patients, procedures, caregivers, and equipment. Allocade is funded by Vantage Point Venture Partners.
