This position represents an opportunity to join a new project team that is part of Varian's successful, growing, OEM business in Flat Panel X-ray Imaging.
This is not an IT/IS job! You will be developing software that becomes a critical part of our Flat Panel Imaging product line.
The successful candidate is expected to be a seasoned Software Professional, who also has an aptitude for Physics and Engineering. In addition, we're looking for these kinds of skills:
* Programming for Windows
* Languages: C/C++, C#
* Software architecture and design
* Experience with full software product lifecycle
* Bonus for: Image processing; MATLAB; GPU programming (e.g. CUDA)
The work atmosphere is relaxed -- more peer-to-peer than hierarchical. We'll be using tools like NUnit for unit testing, NAnt and CruiseControl for build, Visual Studio for coding, and Git for day-to-day source code management.
A word about our Joel Test scores... We can't offer you a door with an office, but things will be relatively quiet, certainly not "a noisy bullpen environment like the type that caffeinated dotcoms love to create". (Geez, do they still do this?!)![]()
