The Recommendations team at Amazon.com generates personalized product recommendations for millions of customers a day, in a blink of an eye, thousands of times a second. As a member of the Recommendations QA Team, you'll be involved in testing features which optimize shopping experience for millions of customers, validating massive scale recommendation systems which help millions of people find what they're looking for, helping to connect people around the world with the products and content that is uniquely relevant to them.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated test engineer with knowledge of web applications who has a strong drive for results, good interpersonal skills and has the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Our SDETs design and implement automated tests as well as create new testing tools used to perform build verification and regression tests. They need to be abreast with the latest technologies and be able to utilize them to good effect. They are also expected to innovate to reduce test script maintenance as well as make QA processes simpler, more efficient, more uniform, less prone to failure and more capable of error detection. Successful candidates must be creative, flexible, self-directed, and able work within a fast pace environment.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
Programming experience with C++, Java and/or Perl is required for this position.
2+ years content/software testing experience with web or distributed applications.
Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Experience developing automation tools and frameworks is a big plus.
Experience with Oracle databases, SQL, DHTML/XML and JavaScript is highly desired.
Proven ability of working effectively in a dynamic environment.![]()
