The Amazon community of customers is comprised of millions of people collaborating to create the most authoritative source of product information on the web. The Amazon Community Content team helps customers make confident buying decisions based on customer provided content such as Customer Reviews and Discussions. We build software to compute and show the very best customer content.

As a member of the Community Content team you will have the opportunity to develop new features to help customers find and buy the best products. You will be building new ground-breaking features by leveraging expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, distributed systems and large scale data mining. You'll ensure that customers and client services have ultra-fast access to all of this information. You will build scalable and fault tolerant systems to process incredible amounts of information in real-time. Your mission will be to help Amazon customers not only increase their confidence in Amazon, but also trust content provided by their fellow customers.

You should be a talented engineer who enjoys working with data on a massive scale. We're passionate about improving our customers' experience, and you should be too. You should be able to write clear and maintainable code, and have a working knowledge of unit testing fundamentals. Experience with service-oriented architectures and distributed systems is a must. You should have professional experience writing production quality large applications.

Qualifications:

Bachelors in Computer Science and three to five years software development experience or equivalent
At least 1 year experience designing high-performance, scalable architectures
At least 2 years of experience with writing production quality code in Java and C++


Experience in the following a plus:

Unix/Linux experience
Object-Oriented analysis and design
Data Mining and Machine Learning
