EnergyHub is a venture-backed startup developing consumer electronics and software tools that reduce home energy consumption and save consumers money. We are a growing team of engineers and designers who share a passion for elegant user-centered design and are dedicated to finding innovative solutions to today’s energy and environmental problems.
Our system includes consumer-facing hardware devices, electric fixtures, embedded software, web software, and web services – and it all has to work together seamlessly. This is where you come in. We’re looking for a talented quality assurance specialist to ensure that projects maintain interoperability and are delivered with the highest possible level of quality. You’ll also provide valuable end-user feedback to improve the customer experience.
Responsibilities:
* Design and maintain a suite of testing procedures to exercise and verify functionality of integrated hardware and software system
* Assist with the planning of QA and product release cycles
* Identify testing requirements such as relevant platforms, databases, and versions thereof
* Execute test procedures to verify functionality against specs and product requirements to meet QA cycle goals
* Integrate automated software testing, manufacturing line hardware testing, and black box system-level testing outputs to arrive at QA satisfaction
* Represent QA concerns in meetings with cross-functional, release, and business team members
* Continually enhance the QA process to ensure superior product quality
Qualifications:
* 4+ years of experience writing and executing QA test plans in the software or consumer electronics industry
* Experience black box testing embedded and web-based applications
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Knowledge of consumer product and web user interfaces and functionality
* Bachelor’s degree or higher (or extensive relevant experience)
Other skills that would be highly valued:
* Experience working in a Linux environment
* Familiarity and experience with ISO quality standards
* White or gray box testing experience
* Experience with software testing automation tools
* TestPlant
* Android
* Java
